The conference “Insights to regional development” was held on June, 2-3, 2015. It was initiated and organized by ARGO and KIMEP University in the framework of “Development through regional cooperation” program, supported by USAID CAR.
Conference connected more than 150 participants: representatives of civil sector, state stuctures, international organizations, scientists and experts from Central Asia, CSI, Europe and USA.
During the conference results of the research “Social partnership: interaction of NGOs and the state in five Central Asian countries”. Participants shared the experience of cooperation with state governments: Tatiana Sedova from Kazakhstan told about the contribution of Kazakhstani CSOs to the state budget, Zhibek Koichukulova from Kyrgyzstan shared their experience of cooperation in lawmaking process, Rustam Bahriddinov from Tajikistan showed the result of partnership networking within the region.
In the framework of conference “Social Partnership Prize” award announced and rewarded winners of the contest. 9 projects-winners (out of 52 participants) from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan were chosen.
In the result of VI “Insights to Regional development” new document – Almaty Declaration “Civic Asia” was established. For the conference participants establishment of declaration “Civic Asia” is an important event, that indicates the role and contribution of CSOs in regional cooperation.
